VALE is a box for holding horizons. By holding them, it also holds the audience, who are invited to relate their body – which is their head, which is their eye – with the landscape.
By constructing a kind of large-scale optical device, Lucas F. Oliveira places the audience in the very spot that shaped his conception of space: at the center of a continuous flow between Serra do Caramulo and Serra da Estrela.
VALE is a multimedia installation, activated and perceived by one person at a time, eliciting a personal and individualized experience, in an inevitable proximity to the artistic object.
