Corpo ao Cubo
Conceived at the intersection between installation and performance, this artistic object explores a state in which Body and Space are one and continuous. Drawing on a reflection regarding the nature of the existence of all things and the development of consciousness, it proposes a pre-verbal condition, devoid of action or intention, in which consciousness precedes identity: I Exist, but I Am not.
The cubic structure holds a body that, throughout nine hours of uninterrupted performance, inhabits the volume as an extension of itself, on both material and sensory levels. The audience is invited to listen, in real-time, to the body’s heartbeat – a unique expression of its living presence – and to participate in the sensory and immediate, temporally undefined dimension in which it exists.
